Toffee recipe


°1 c chopped pecans
°1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter
°1 cup granulated sugar
°½ teaspoon kosher salt
°1 teaspoon vanilla extract
°1 cup milk chocolate chips


°Spray a 9-inch rectangular baking dish with cooking spray and line with parchment paper.
°Spread the chopped pecans in a single layer on top of the parchment.
°Add the butter, sugar and salt to a heavy-bottomed 3-quart saucepan
°Bring to a boil over medium-low heat, stirring regularly to dissolve the sugar.
°Once the sweet boils, stir occasionally, slowly and evenly, till the sweet has reached 290F to 300F, or "tough crack" on a sweet thermometer.
°Once the sweet has reached 290F-300F, eliminate from the warmth and lightly stir withinside the vanilla extract.
°Carefully pour the combination over the chopped pecans.
°Let the sweets take a seat down for some mins, undisturbed, earlier than sprinkling the chocolate chips on pinnacle.
°Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and permit stand for five mins or till the chocolate is softened.
